Desert Series #7 is part of an ongoing body of work inspired by the Central Desert, my ancestral Country. Earlier works in this series were large-scale acrylic paintings on canvas; this piece marks the first time I have translated that visual language into ceramic form.

The series emerged from an urge to reconnect with body and Country during a period of isolation and displacement, using material and process as a method of return.
