THIN BLAK LINE (2025)

Thin Blak Line is made in response to the City of Melbourne’s proposal to fund a private police force and increase its use of AI-operated CCTV cameras in the city. Aboriginal people make up around 20% of all people experiencing homelessness at any given time—this piece addresses the ongoing weight of paternalistic and racist colonial policies that continue to have us overrepresented in prisons, policing and homelessness services. It speaks to the thin blak line that stands between the police and the rest of the Australian population, where Aboriginal people continue to absorb the heavest impacts of police violence.
